2020: The Year of Goals, Manifesting and Action

2020: The Year of Goals, Manifesting and Action

Happy New Years, guys! It feels good to be back and blogging again. I’m certain you already know what this blog post is about to be about. GOALS, of course. Brace yourself, you’re going to be hearing that word very very frequently between now and, let’s say, the end of February. It’s that time of year where people make resolutions or goals they plan to hit for the New Year. But can I say something? Why is it that some of us feel the need to wait til a New Year to get our act together? I mean is not everyday a new day? A new beginning? A clean slate to do with it what we want to do or need to do?? But I digress. I’m proud of us for making it through 2019, and I’m excited to grow with you as a strong fruitful, prosperous community in 2020.

I’ve decided to make a few changes to The Uptown Body, all for the best of course, because A LOT has changed in the past 6 months. A LOT CAN CHANGE IN 6 MONTHS! A few things that happened are:

  • I quit my 9-5 in Houston, Texas.

  • I moved to Denver, Colorado

  • I made the conscious decision to work for myself

  • I’m now a licensed Texas real estate agent and finishing up the process to become licensed in Colorado.

  • I registered The Uptown Body as an LLC! So yes we’re official

  • The Uptown Body LLC now houses my beauty/makeup business, my press on nail line and *drumroll please* our media & consulting agency AND real estate.

So as far as changes to our little community goes: we are OF COURSE going to be talking makeup and beauty, that’s not going anywhere, sweet babies. We will be talking more about business. Why? Because I know so many strong women trying to figure out how to make their passions into money making machines or a path to financial freedom for their families, and I am here for it. I get a thrill from talking business and ideas & if I can help at least one person get from the idea stage into a full fledged business, then it’s worth it to me. Lastly, I’ll include bits here and there regarding my real estate journey and why I felt it was necessary for me as a black woman to finally step into that realm.

What made 2019 so different from my other years before it? Last year I refused to settle. I was deliberate and intentional. I read more books. I connected with likeminded people with goals and achievements bigger than my own. And I think most importantly, I WROTE MY GOALS DOWN. 2019 was busy for me & had a lot of ups and downs for a lot of people I care about. We made it though, and we’re much stronger from it. To help us all get in the right mindset for achieving our goals, our media and consulting component came up with the 30-Day Hustler Bootcamp Challenge. It’ll be a new challenge everyday specifically for influences, entrepreneurs, and budding businesses, designed to build consistency, increase visibility, attract more sales/clients, and increase productivity online and offline. To join the Bootcamp Challenge, just subscribe to TheUptownBody.com.

Anywho, this post is getting kind of long. Long story short, it’s good to be back. I’m rooting for you this year and every year. There’s a whole lot of untapped potential that WE WILL be tapping into this year.

XOXO
